On January 8, 1975, after attending 8:00 a.m. Mass and grabbing a doughnut at Main Street's Donut Kettle, Ella arrived at the historic Windsor Locks train station to board a train to travel to Hartford for her inauguration as 83rd governor of the State of Connecticut.
