During the year 2019 the town of Windsor Locks will celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of Ella Rosa Giovianna Oliva Tambussi Grasso, native daughter and the first woman elected governor of an American state in her own right. She served as Connecticut's 83rd governor from January 8, 1975 until December 31, 1980, when she resigned due to illness. Join us in this year-long celebration of the life and times of Ella Grasso.
It was my pleasure as future Municipal Historian to meet with Congresswoman Ella Grasso on July 4, 1976 at Noden-Reed Park (see the picture of Ella and me below). I also received a personal note from her!
